This Week’s Book Report: Extreme Homes

Little boxes on the hillside. Little boxes made of ticky-tacky. This week I’m all about architecture in its most extreme forms.

First up is New Treehouses of the World by Pete Nelson. Ever since seeing the Swiss Family Robinson, I’ve been fascinated by treehouses and I’m not alone. Interest in treehouses has increased enormously in the last ten years. Check out the design and construction of 35 from around the world.

Next up is Tiny Houses by Mimi Zeiger. This scaled down coffee table book is Dwell magazine contributor Mimi Zeiger’s opus to dwelling under 1000 square feet.

And finally, there’s Modular Mansions by Shari Koones. “WATCHING A HOUSE being built in a factory is a unique experience…”
