This Week’s Book Report

weekendsewingTop on my list this week is Weekend Sewing: More Than 40 Projects and Ideas for Inspired Stitching by Heather Ross. It’s an entire book focused on clothing and home projects that can be done in a weekend or less. An advocate of the Stitch and Bitch, many of Ross’s projects only take a few hours and can be done with friends. Others, such as the weekend travel bag will probably take you the whole weekend but are worth it. 40 projects with patterns for $18.00 on Amazon – why even buy flat patterns anymore?

A Homemade Life: Stories and Recipes from My Kitchen Table. This collection from Molly from the blog Orangette, is part memior, part travel journal, and part recipe book. Every recipe is a journey.

And finally,
The New Terrarium: Creating Beautiful Displays for Plants and Nature
. This book was made for me – the city dweller dreaming on more than just a pitiful spider plant in her window. You mean I can have gorgeous plants in my home with less work than my sad-looking rubber plant needs now? Sign me up!
