Etsy Classes This Afternoon

Chantelle from Money Be Green

Chantelle from Money Be Green

Chantelle from the Money Be Green blog will be on Etsy.com’s Virtual Lab at 2:30pm Eastern Time to hand out financial tips for starving artists.

At 4:00pm Eastern Time, Kegan and Liz from DesignGlut will be offering Getting Noticed By the Blogosphere.

Since this is my third day on the blog-job, I will definitely be tuning in.

I’m so glad that Etsy, the online marketplace for arts and crafters, is offering classes to it’s members. The membership is free and quick, so don’t hesistate to sign up, even if you’re not ready for crafting primetime.

Recession-Proof Investing?

At Christie’s in Paris this week, an Eileen Gray “Dragon” Chair owned by Yves Saint Laurent sold at auction for more than ten times its estimate for a whopping $28 million and change.

Grays’s aluminum “Suspension Satellite” mobile went for 4 times it’s estimate for a tidy $3,851,808.

The YSL collection, also including fine art by masters like Degas and Cezanne, broke the record for most valuable private collection sold at auction and seven world records for artists at auction. Yipes! There must not be a recession in France.

Inspiration: Beardhead Bearded Ski Caps

Beardhead's Grandpa Cap

Beardhead's Grandpa Cap

Okay, I saw this on uncrate today and these bearded, mustacheoed caps are amazing but I immediately thought, “Why aren’t these available for children?” How cute would these look on a 7 year old?

Check out Beardhead’s selection of caps and clever interchangable mustaches at http://www.beardhead.com.

Until they come up with a children’s line, I guess a crochet-fiend like myself will have to improvise. Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, right?
